Morning Briefing: Benge Set for MLB Debut

Good morning, Mets fans!

Carlos Mendoza announced yesterday that No. 2-ranked Mets prospect Carson Benge will make his major league debut on Opening Day. The lefty will be playing right field, facing Pirates ace Paul Skenes.

The decision for Benge to be on the roster comes after he slashed .366/.435/.439 across 41 at-bats in spring training. With the injury to Mike Tauchman, Benge should see regular playing time in 2026.
