Morning Briefing: Ryan Lambert Has Stellar Outing in Mets Win
Good morning, Mets fans!
Ryan Lambert pitched a clean eighth inning, allowing one hit while striking out three in the Mets’ 4-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays, as recapped by Gianna Arantes.
Lambert set the radar gun ablaze, tallying the five hardest thrown pitches of the day and maxing out at 99 mph. Expect more firepower on the mound from Lambert this spring, as he has been known to max out at 102 mph.

Juan Soto spoke with Anthony DiComo of MLB.com about his chances of winning NL MVP in the future.
“I’m going to be there every year, too,” Soto said. “So he better keep doing what he’s doing, because I’m coming.”
Soto continued by saying that he knows it will not be easy to fend off the four-time MVP, but he will have to find a way. He said that he is looking to improve both on the bases and in the outfield, where he will be playing left field consistently for the first time since 2023.
“Even hitting, I try to keep my hitting increased,” Soto said. “I’ve been putting numbers up there, career highs and stuff like that. So I just want to keep doing the same thing. I try to be better year after year.”
