Phillies Nation is offering a Lehigh Valley IronPigs beat reporter internship for the 2026 season. Prospective candidates will be contacted for a virtual interview by the end of February.
Interns Must Have:
- Strong writing, reporting and interviewing skills.
- Regular access to computer and internet.
- Ability to travel to and work regularly at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Pa. We will consider applicants who prefer to cover the Reading Fightin Phils, Jersey Shore BlueClaws or Clearwater Threshers. All candidates must be available and willing to cover minor league games in person.
- Ability to cover a full minor league season (late March to end of September 2026).
- A passion for beat reporting and covering minor league baseball.
Responsibilities Include:
- Focusing on daily storylines involving the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.
- Writing 3-5 articles weekly.
- Covering at least two IronPigs home games per homestand once your spring semester is over.
- Covering major league players on minor league rehab assignments.
- Interviewing IronPigs players and coaches for news stories and potential features.
- Contributing to Phillies Nation’s coverage of the 2026 MLB Draft.
- Following Phillies top prospects playing at other minor league affiliates.
- Assisting Editorial Director Ty Daubert with Phillies mid-season prospect rankings.
- Responsibilities DO NOT include writing about the Philadelphia Phillies. Your focus will be on the IronPigs, Phillies prospects and MLB Draft. You will not be credentialed to cover the Philadelphia Phillies.
