Good morning, Mets fans!

The 2026 trade deadline will be on Aug. 3 at 6 p.m. ET.

Freddy Peralta was officially introduced by the Mets after being acquired last week, expressing excitement about joining New York. He acknowledged the pressure of playing in New York but said his postseason experience has helped to prepare him.

Peralta also emphasized staying true to himself, a quality Mets president David Stearns praised when explaining the trade, and said teammates have already made him feel welcome.

Alexis Farinacci covered the full presser in detail on Tuesday.

Bo Bichette will not suit up for Brazil in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, per Ubiratan Leal of ESPN Brazil.

The Mets have signed infielder Grae Kessinger to a minor league deal, per Mike Puma of the New York Post. Kessinger played in only 11 games last year, all in Triple-A for the Diamondbacks.

Mets minor leaguer Jefry Yan got a big strikeout in the Dominican Winter League (LIDOM) championship game. Yan picked up the win as Leones del Escogido won for the second straight season. Yan allowed only one earned run in 11 playoff appearances.
