Victoria win Australian Baseball U-18 National Championship
Victoria came from behind to beat Western Australia, 9-4, and claim the Australian Baseball U-18 National Championship.
Western Australia wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard and took the lead with a four-run first at bat. They managed to reach base only twice in the rest of the game.
Lachlan Brennan started a five-RBI performance batting in Victoria's first run with a double in the top of the second. It was the first of his three hits. He would clear the bases with another double in the top of the fifth, giving Victoria a lead they wouldn't surrender.
Victoria's bullpen did the rest. Keinosuke Lee allowed just a hit over four innings of work, striking out four. Cooper Bishop-Worn pitched the final two innings, allowing a hit and striking out four.
Cooper Bishop-Worn (Victoria) earned MVP honours. The other individual awards went to Brody Stokes (Victoria; Golden Bat), Liam Puncher (Victoria; Golden Arm), and Quinn Fatai (Western Australia; Golden Glove).
