Rumor Roundup: Mets Offer Kyle Tucker $50 Million-Per-Year Deal

Update: Fansided‘s Robert Murray says the Mets have offered Tucker a short-term deal at an average of $50 million per season. Inferring from Sammon’s reporting below that they’ve offered Tucker three years, that could mean they’ve offered Tucker a deal worth around $150 million.

Will Sammon of The Athletic revealed that the per industry sources the Mets offer to Kyle Tucker is in the range of $120-140 million across three years. It is possible the Mets could increase their offer if bidding continues. The Mets held multiple video conferences with Tucker across the last week.

Sammon also mentioned that “multiple industry sources suggested that a decision from Tucker, who turns 29 on Saturday, could come as early as this week.” Tucker’s contact preference in terms of length and AAV is unknown.

Passan also reported the San Francisco Giants are “aggressively” going after infielders Nico Hoerner of the Cubs and Brendan Donovan of the Cardinals in trades.
