Utuado Tainas win Puerto Rico Women's Baseball League
The Utuado Tainas defeated Las Piedras Artesanas in four games to claim the 2025-2026 Puerto Rico Women's Baseball League. Utuado won a double-header on Sunday, January 4, at the Cristóbal Cagüitas Colón Stadium iN San Lorenzo to claim the title.

WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup star Janiliz Rivera went the distance to win games one and three and earned MVP honours. Noelia de Jesus, also a WBSC Women's Baseball World Cup veteran, pitched a complete game to earn the win in the rubber match.
Utuado's manager, Diamilette Quiles, the first-ever woman to play and coach in Puerto Rico's Superior Double A League, won her fourth title as a manager.
She won her first three pennants when leading the Arecibo Lobas. Arecibo won 13 out of 15 pennants through the 2024-25 season before the franchise moved to Utuada and the team was renamed Tainas.
Utuado and Las Piedras finished first and second after the regular season, and both swept the semifinal series. The Tainas defeated Vega Alta Maceteras, while the Artesanas eliminated the first-year team, Santa Isabel Ponys.
The Puerto Rican Baseball Federation (FBPR) awarded Klara Irizarry (Juana Diaz Poetas) as the women's baseball leading hitter. She went 24-for-41, posting a .585 batting average.
