Former Mets hitting coach Jeremy Barnes announced on LinkedIn that he is joining the Nationals as the director of baserunning, game play and defense. Barnes spent 2022-2025 on the Mets’ major league staff, serving this past season as co-hitting coach with Eric Chávez. The Mets replaced Barnes and Chávez with Troy Snitker.
