Johnny Trujillo shared the following interview with Eduardo Brizuela, assistant general manager for the Mets. Below is the translation of the interview:

Two-time World Series champion Joe Kelly announced his retirement from MLB yesterday via the Baseball Isn’t Boring Podcast (listen here). However, he does not want it referred to as “retirement”, instead opting to call it the end of his playing career due to retirement being “something his grandmother did”.
Over Kelly’s 13 seasons, he accumulated 5.3 WAR while pitching to a 3.98 ERA over 839 innings. The pinnacle of his career was in the 2018 Red Sox World Series run, when he did not allow a run in five appearances and 24 batters faced.
