Report: Phillies to sign outfielder Adolis Garcia
The Phillies have found their new right fielder.
Former Texas Rangers outfielder and 2023 ALCS MVP Adolis Garcia is reportedly signing with the Phillies on a one-year, $10 million deal, according to Francys Romano.
Garcia, 32, is looking to rebound after two tough seasons at the plate. He was non-tendered by the Rangers after only slashing .227/.271/.394 with a .665 OPS in 2025.
Garcia, a native of Cuba, has an above average glove in right field that gives him a reasonably high floor. He does possess some right-handed power, something the Phillies desperately need. His 19 home runs last season would have been third on the club behind Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper.
The deal all but spells the end of Nick Castellanos’ time in Philadelphia. The Phillies are actively looking for “a change of scenery” for Castellanos. That could come later this offseason as the Phillies are not in need of extra roster spots at the moment.
