Puerto Rico Superior Double-A Baseball League reveals full 2026 schedule
The Baseball Federation of Puerto Rico (FBPR) revealed the full schedule of the Superior Double-A League 2026 regular season.
The 2026 Double-A League will include 45 participating teams split into eight divisions. On February 1, the defending champions, Juncos Mulos, will host Las Piedras Artesanos in the opening game. The remaining teams will open their seasons on February 6.
The regular season will run through April 19. The first round of the postseason, best-of-five Division semifinals and best-of-seven Division finals, will determine the participants in the eight-team Carnival of Champions (Carnaval de Campeones), and the top four finishers in the Carnival of Champions will compete in the best-of-seven semifinals. The winners will play for the pennant in the best-of-seven final series.
The Champions Cup (Copa de Campeones) will precede the 2026 Double-A season. The preseason event is scheduled on January 16, 18, 23 and 25.
FBPR also announced that the Puerto Rican Olympic Committee (COPUR) honoured Yedlimar de Jesús and Jorhan Laboy during a special edition of the Olympic Awards (Premiacion Olimpica) dedicated to the island's future sport stars in Trujillo Alto.
De Jesus, who led the Utuado Tainas to the Puerto Rican Women's Baseball League final, is on the roster of Monroe University in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in the USA.
Leboy starred for Puerto Rico at the WBSC Americas U-23 Baseball World Cup Qualifier, leading them to second place in the North, Central America and the Caribbean Group. He earned two wins and didn't allow a run in 11 innings pitched, becoming the All-Tournament Team starting pitcher.
WOBA Yabucoa defeated Ponce Cachorros, 13-0, at the Pichinga Garcia de las Parcelas Martorell ballpark in Yabucoa to win the National U-12 Championship. Pitcher Erick Lopez èitched a perfect game and earned MVP honours.
