The Phillies signed right-handed pitcher Bryse Wilson to a contract, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

Wilson, who turns 28 next week, appeared in 20 games for the Chicago White Sox last season, starting five and finishing with a 6.65 ERA in 47 1/3 innings. He pitched 48 1/3 innings at Triple-A Charlotte, where he finished with a 4.25 ERA in 18 appearances (eight starts).

Wilson has been both a starter and reliever throughout his professional career. He started a career-high 20 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2022. His best season in the majors came in 2023 when he had a 2.58 ERA in 53 games for the Milwaukee Brewers. The right-hander provides needed depth to the Phillies’ pitching staff.

Wilson has also appeared in the majors for the Atlanta Braves, the club that originally drafted him. Altogether, he’s appeared in 163 major-league games (57 starts) and has a 4.82 ERA in 461 innings.
