South Africa book WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup ticket after being crowned Africa champions

World No. 23 South Africa claimed the Africa ticket to the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2026 after being crowned WBSC Africa U-15 Baseball Champions at the Africa Qualifier at the Nairobi Baseball Field of Dreams in Kenya on Sunday.

South Africa completing an undefeated run in the three-day WBSC Africa U-15 Baseball Championship, which also featured hosts and world No. 63 Kenya, No. 55 Uganda and South Sudan.

On the final day of competition, South Africa produced two commanding performances to seal the title. In the morning fixture, they defeated Uganda 6-0 before closing the tournament with a 20-1 victory over hosts Kenya. The results completed South Africa’s unbeaten run of six wins from six games.

South Africa will make its ninth appearance at the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup, and its fourth in a row. The nation’s best result on the global stage was an eighth-place finish in 2003, when nine teams participated in the competition.

With their bronze medal, South Sudan will make the WBSC Men's Baseball World Ranking for the first time in history.

Nine teams have qualified so far for the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2026:

WBSC Americas will announce two more teams, with a wild card completing the field of 12 teams for the VII WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup.
