Morning Briefing: World Series Returns to Toronto
Good morning, Mets fans!
Toronto returns home for World Series Game 6 with a 3-2 lead, aiming to clinch its first championship since 1993. This game holds significant historical importance for the Blue Jays, who won their titles in both 1992 and 1993, notably in Game 6. After an exhausting 18-inning Game 3, Toronto bounced back with two strong wins in Los Angeles, thanks to players like Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Trey Yesavage, Davis Schneider and others.
Kevin Gausman will start for the Jays as they attempt to close out the series, while George Springer’s status remains uncertain. The Dodgers will counter with Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who has been dominant with back-to-back complete games this postseason, as they look to force a Game 7. Toronto’s lineup is performing well throughout, while L.A.’s offense has struggled, hitting just .201 in the series. The first pitch is scheduled for today at 8 p.m.
Now onto the morning briefing!
