Chris Suero Continues Showing Off Power, Speed in AFL
Mets prospect Chris Suero hit an opposite-field blast for his third home run in seven Arizona Fall League games Thursday in the Scottsdale Scorpions’ 12-3 victory over the Peoria Javelinas (7-7). He went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and two stolen bases.

Suero, ranked the No. 14 prospect on our most recent MMO list, is 8-for-29 with a .964 OPS and four steals in the AFL. The 21-year-old, who can play catcher, left field and first base, hit .233/.379/.407 with 16 homers and 35 steals this year in 115 games combined at High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamton. In his first AFL action, RHP Jordan Geber gave up two earned runs on three hits and struck out two in one inning. Geber, 26, was excellent at Binghamton this year (2.35 ERA, 21 strikeouts in 23 innings) before struggling at Triple-A Syracuse (8.03 ERA, 11 strikeouts in 12 1/3 innings).
RHP Austin Troesser threw a scoreless inning in relief with a strikeout and a walk. He’s given up two runs in 4 2/3 innings with four strikeouts in the AFL. The 2023 fourth-round pick from the University of Missouri pitched to a 4.80 ERA in 15 innings for Brooklyn this year.
Scottsdale (9-5) plays at the Salt River Rafters (8-6) at 3:30 p.m. ET Friday.
