Mets Minors Recap: Brooklyn Wins SAL Championship
The Brooklyn Cyclones clinched the South Atlantic League Championship with a 2-1 win over Hub City on Tuesday — the third title in franchise history. Marco Vargas added to his recent hot streak by driving in one of the Cyclones’ two runs, while Franklin Gomez set the tone with four scoreless innings and Hoss Brewer closed it out in the ninth, capping a dominant postseason for Brooklyn’s pitching staff.

Pintaro turned in a solid outing for Syracuse on Tuesday, holding the IronPigs to just one run over four innings. Brazoban — who has bounced between the big leagues and Triple-A this past month — followed with a scoreless appearance in the bulk role, rebounding after being pressed into action following Jonah Tong’s rough outing last week.

Santucci’s first taste of pro postseason baseball was a success — the lefty threw 81 pitches over 4.1 innings, allowing just one earned run. After a rocky April, he has since settled in and dominated at both High-A and Double-A. Ryan Lambert closed the door with a dominant ninth inning, showing why he ranks among the top relief prospects in the Mets’ system — and in all of minor league baseball.
