- RHP Zack Wheeler (right upper extremity blood clot)
- Status: 15-day injured list
- Zack Wheeler was placed on the 15-day injured list on Aug. 16 with a right upper extremity blood clot. The Phillies ace had surgery to remove the clot on Monday, Aug. 18.
- The Phillies announced on Saturday that Wheeler’s season is over. The right-hander has been diagnosed with venous thoracic outlet syndrome. It’s been recommended that he undergo thoracic outlet decompression surgery, which has a recovery timeline of six to eight months.
