Morning Briefing: Jose Siri Set to Start Rehab Assignment
Good morning, Mets fans!
The Mets are looking to get back one of their offseason additions on the field in the next couple of weeks as they try to improve their outfield depth. Jose Siri, who has one hit in 20 big league at-bats with the Mets, is reportedly going to start a rehab assignment in the next week, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.
The former Rays outfielder fouled a ball off his shin on April 12, fracturing his tibia and initially landing him on the 10-day IL. However, after a setback in his recovery, Siri ended up being put on the 60-day IL. After being shut down from all baseball activities on June 13, the Mets are trying to get back their speedster center fielder.
