Japan maintains No. 1 spot in WBSC Men’s Baseball World Ranking following WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2025

Following the conclusion of the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2025 presented by RAXUS in Tainan (TPE) on Sunday, the top nine ranked programmes in the WBSC Men’s Baseball World Ranking kept their positions after the latest update.

USA remains in third place on 4591 points thanks to a third successive title at the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup, with their points from the 2025 edition (345 points) replacing those from their title win in 2022, while the top programme - Japan (6980 points) - extended its lead having earnt more points this year with a second place finish (275 points) in Tainan (TPE) replacing a seventh place finish in 2022 (138 points). Chinese Taipei remains in second place on 5127 points, followed by USA, Korea and Mexico, who matched or bettered their WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup result from 2022.

The only movement in the rankings following the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2025 saw Australia and Dominican Republic swap positions No. 10 and 11 and Germany moving ahead of China into 18h spot.

WBSC Men’s Baseball World Ranking

European countries Czechia and Germany, which finished 10th and 11th in the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2025 presented by RAXUS, are having a strong year in the Men’s Baseball World Rankings so far with 236 and 235 points respectively thanks to strong results at the Prague Baseball Week and the U-15 Baseball European Championship this year. For the amount of points collected in 2025, they are ranked 4th and 5th in the World Rankings with only USA, Japan and Korea having assembled more.

Japan, Chinese Taipei and Korea are the top ranked countries from Asia. The Americas see USA, Mexico and Venezuela as their top three programmes in the Men’s Baseball World Rankings. Oceania’s top ranked programme is Australia in 10th place followed by Guam in 32nd and New Zealand in 56th. South Africa still leads the way for Africa in 26th spot.

Europe’s top ranked countries are still the Netherlands (World No. 8) and Italy (World No. 14) with Czechia (in 15th) gaining crucial points since both the Netherlands nor Italy didn’t qualify for the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup.

The next major update of the WBSC Men’s Baseball World Ranking is expected following the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup presented by RAXUS in September.
