Mariners Reacts Survey: New Faces in New Places
Naylor? I hardly Know Her
Welcome back for another week of Mariners Reacts!
It's been exciting times for the boys in Seafoam lately, as the team recently acquired first baseman Josh Naylor. The hefty lefty is slashing a very impressive .292/.359/.442 over the course of the season so far. The aquasition of Naylor addreses the Mariner glaring need for a first baseman.
Now, while first base is absolutely a position that needed to be addressed, it seems not all of you agree that it should be the first to be addressed. Last week we asked what position the Mariners should priortize at the trade deadline and the result was a little suprising to me:
Now, the question is, who should the Mariners go out and get? In the comments below, let us know who you think the Mariners should target to replenish their arm barn.
We also asked if the Mariners still had a chance of making the playoffs this year. The team has been inconsistent at times and has been all over the place all year. Despite having one of the top offenses in the league, injurues in the pitching rotation and instability in the bullpen have made stringing together long runs of sucess seem almost impossible at times. Despite all that though, Mariners fans are keeping the faith.
I’m with you all, I’m excited honestly. I’m 27 years old I was born in 98’ so the Mariners have made the playoffs once that I can remember, I’d be beyond thrilled if they could do it twice in 5 year stretch.
Now this week, the trade deadline is bearing down, you all have already made it clear what you want the Mariners to do, go out and get a relief pitcher or two. But could the Mariners be done? Theres for sure a possibility they don’t get the chance to make a deal they like. As many of us know many teams don’t like to trade with Jerry because of his percived ability to fleece teams on an occasion or two. Do the Mariners make another move before the deadline? Let us know in the survey below.
Moreover, what do you think of the Naylor deal, yeah the Mariners filled a need but really Naylor is a three month rental if they don’t extend him, did they over pay? or have they set themselves up for future sucess far into the future? Let us know through the survey and comments below!
