ALC Hosts 2025 Summer Orientation

0 41

On Saturday, July 12th, Alice Lloyd College hosted its annual summer orientation for new students. This year, the College welcomed over 200 incoming students and their families.

During orientation, students received their class schedules and important IT information. They also met with representatives from the College’s many clubs, organizations, athletic teams, academic programs, and the Student Work Office.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Charles Marshall officially welcomed students and families to campus in the Perry Campus Center’s main gymnasium. A panel of ALC staff then guided students through a series of assemblies designed to help them understand what to expect during their first year. The program included information on the College’s professional dress requirements, convocation series, and student work program.

Following the assemblies, students broke into groups for guided campus tours. On these tours, they explored their new home on Purpose Road, familiarized themselves with buildings and classrooms, and played a round of ALC trivia. To get to know one another better, the incoming students met in the meadow for games before enjoying lunch served by the Hunger Din.

Carmen Riley from London, KY, is excited to find her purpose at ALC. “I’m looking forward to meeting new people and can’t wait to be an Eagle! My older sister earned a degree from ALC, and my favorite part of orientation was her showing me around and introducing me to people. I really enjoyed meeting the faculty and staff.”

We’re excited to welcome everyone back to campus in August and can’t wait for the semester to begin!
