2 Youth Baseball Coaches Fired for 'Disturbing' Act

A pair of youth baseball coaches have been fired after inappropriate video surfaced from their actions at a recent tournament.

The two coaches were apparently seen streaking in front of children on the baseball field. Children can be heard laughing as the two men run around the field, one of them laid out over home plate.

The teams the coaches previously worked for play in the Lake Bluff Youth Baseball Association in the Chicago suburbs. The coaches took the teams to New York for the Cooperstown tournament.

The Lake Bluff Youth Baseball Association, which has existed for over 70 years, says that it will work with local law enforcement as it continues to gather information about what took place with the young players.

The Otsego County Sheriff's office says that deputies responded to the Cooperstown All Star Village after security asked the men to leave. The men refused, and when the deputies arrived the men and any other witnesses had vacated the scene.

Lake Bluff says that it "is deeply distressed to learn about the recent situation involving the Lake Bluff 12U Blue Cooperstown team."

"We are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness and have contacted relevant authorities. We will continue to support those authorities in their investigations of this matter. We have also taken immediate and decisive action by terminating the assistant coaches involved."

The two coaches are not set to face criminal charges for their actions, as the Otsego County district attorney's office "declined [to prosecute] due to the level of criminality involved and the fact that all parties reside out of state."

According to CBS News Chicago, many parents associated with the league declined to speak publicly about the matter.

Cooperstown All-Star Village hosts youth baseball tournaments throughout the summer, and teams from around the country travel to New York to compete. The city is also home to the Baseball Hall of Fame, roughly a 30 minute drive from the baseball complex.

The facility includes 12 baseball fields, batting cages and lodging for players as they stay, play and eat their meals all at the complex.
