Royals Reacts Results - MLB fixes an All-Star mistake
Your votes on this poll may have mattered more than your actual All-Star ballots.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the MLB. Throughout the year, we ask questions of the most plugged-in Kansas City Royals fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Last week, we posed a question asking if the Royals were snubbed, unfairly rewarded, or received just the right amount of All-Star selections. The Royals have finished the first “half” of the season well under .500, but that doesn’t mean there haven't been some bright spots along the way. At least, that’s what Royals Reacts Survey respondents said.
Fans responded overwhelmingly that the Royals deserved more than the initial two All-Stars they were awarded. Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and starting pitcher Kris Bubic were the only Royals whose names were called during the annual All-Star Selection Show last weekend.
However, during the intervening period, MLB appears to have agreed with the Royals, as closer Carlos Estévez and third baseman Maikel Garcia were each added to the squad as replacements for otherwise unavailable players. That brings the Royals' total to four, fewer only than four other teams in all of MLB.
Now if only that All-Star clout could get them some more wins...
