Mariners Game #92 Preview: 7/9/25, SEA at NYY
Logan Evans in Yankee Stadium, what could go wrong
The Mariners really needed a win in last night’s game with their ace Logan Gilbert on the hill, but the weather and the Yankees had other plans. (Yesterday’s game was stupid, but Ryan’s recap was not, and you should read that if you didn’t.) Today’s game is going to be tough, with rookie hurler Logan Evans on the mound, who gives up more deep fly balls than you’d like to see in the Bronx bandbox. He’ll be opposed by Cam Schlittler, making his MLB debut. The 6’6” Schlittler, who isn’t Schlittle at all, was a seventh-round pick for the Yankees in 2022 and has been cruising to the bigs on the back of a powerful fastball.
