PHILADELPHIA — He’s back.
Bryce Harper has been reinstated from the 10-day injured list. To make room for him on the 26-man roster, infielder Buddy Kennedy was designated for assignment.
Harper was placed on the IL on June 7 with right wrist inflammation. The injury first became an issue near the end of last season. He played through pain and rested in the offseason only for the pain to reoccur. It got to the point where Harper could not tolerate it. He began ramping up for a return during the Phillies’ most road trip in Houston and Atlanta.
He has not played in a game since June 5. They went 12-9 since his placement on the injured list.
In 57 games played, Harper is batting .258 with nine home runs, 34 RBIs and an .814 OPS.
