Nick Morabito, Ryan Clifford Stay Hot in Double-A

Mark Vientos went 2-for-2 and made a great defensive play in what will be his last rehab game for Syracuse in their 5-1 win, Binghamton continued its domination in a 5-1 win, the Brooklyn Cyclones become the first team in all of MiLB baseball to reach the 50 win mark in their 2-1 win and St. Lucie clawed out a 1-0 win on a Wednesday that saw every full season affiliate victorious.

Triple-A

Syracuse opened the game with a three-run first inning, and that would be all they would need to secure the victory on Wednesday. Luisangel Acuña has come to Triple-A looking to rebuild his stock, hitting two doubles and stealing a base. In 52 at-bats, Drew Gilbert is slashing .173/.283/.288 against lefties with one home run.

On a bullpen day, Syracuse allowed only one run and three walks while striking out 15 hitters. Dom Hamel, after a rough start to June, has settled in, allowing eight hits in his last three outings, spanning nine innings while striking out nine hitters. Felipe Cruz has also been solid in his last three outings, allowing one run over six innings while only allowing two hits and striking out eight, even with six walks. If De La Cruz could get the walks under control, he could be a candidate for a bullpen role in New York, but he has walked 12 in nine and two-thirds innings in June.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (46-23) 5, Portland Sea Dogs (35-34) 1

If Binghamton wasn’t loaded enough, the additions of Jacob Reimer and Carson Benge will ensure that opposing pitchers will have a tough time through the lineup one through six almost every day. Nick Morabito just continues hitting and stealing bases, grabbing his 29th steal of the season.

With Binghamton also going to a bullpen day, five Rumble Ponies’ pitchers combined to allow one run over nine innings. Brian Metoyer made his first appearance in 2025 for Binghamton and did not allow a run, although he did walk two batters. Anthony Nunez has been electric in June, only allowing one run over seven and two-thirds innings, striking out 12 while allowing four hits.

High-A

Colin Houck has gotten off to a rough start in Brooklyn, going 0-for-7 with six strikeouts in his first two games. Despite the win, Brooklyn only managed two hits on the day, both home runs and struck out 13 times.

Will Watson came to the mound Wednesday and had another great outing, allowing only one run on four hits over five innings. Watson, like many of the Mets’ 2024 starting pitcher draft class, has been successful almost immediately. Jace Beck, after not pitching since 2023, has been up-and-down during the 2025 season, but had a positive outing today, striking out one batter over one inning.

Low-A

The only run the S-Mets scored on Wednesday was on a passed ball in the eighth inning, with the six-through-nine hitters going 0-for-11 with four walks and four strikeouts. Jeremy Rodriguez continues to struggle, but as one of the youngest players in Low-A, it isn’t surprising.

Frank Elissalt has been a revelation this season, emerging from nowhere as the Mets’ second-to-last pick in the 2024 draft to become one of the most consistent pitchers in the St. Lucie rotation. Juan Arnaud has seen his control slip in June, with six walks in eight and one-third innings, after walking only two in nine innings in May.
