• The first All-Star ballot update was released yesterday. Cal Raleigh leads all catchers and is second in the AL in total votes behind just Aaron Judge. Go vote for the Mariners!
• In a recent radio spot, Jerry Dipoto hinted that the team could be aggressive in the early stages of the trade deadline season and plans to play at the top of the market.
• Our very own John Trupin recapped the last weekend in the minors for Baseball Prospectus, in which M’s prospect Michael Arroyo was highlighted as the Hitter of the Weekend. ($)

• Joon Lee at Yahoo! Sports took a peek behind the curtain at an increasingly dysfunctional and directionless Boston Red Sox organization, which has now traded away its best player yet again.
• Astros righty Lance McCullers is headed back to the injured list, this time with a foot sprain.
• Yankees right-hander Jake Cousins will undergo Tommy John surgery, taking him out through most of 2026 at minimum.
• Jay Jaffe at Fangraphs wonders where the Royals go from here after losing ace Cole Ragans for the foreseeable future.
• The Men’s College World Series is in full swing, and probable 2025 first-rounder Gage Wood of Arkansas threw just the third-ever no-hitter in the history of the competition, blanking Murray State.
• This past weekend, the singer Nezza sang the National Anthem for the Dodgers game in Spanish against the team’s wishes.
