Morning Briefing: Manaea Strikes Out Four in Second Rehab Outing

0 19

Good morning, Mets fans!

Sean Manaea’s second rehab start went a lot better, results-wise, than his first. After allowing four runs (three earned) in his first, he didn’t allow any in 2 2/3 on Tuesday for the High-A Brooklyn Cyclones. He struck out four and issued one walk. He allowed two hits.

He worked up to 46 pitches — a step in the right direction.

Manaea strained his oblique during spring training and is yet to pitch for the Mets in 2025. New York’s rotation has been fantastic without him, but it’s important not to forget that Manaea had a 3.47 ERA in 32 starts last year and re-signed with the Mets for three years.
