Minor League Recap: Dominican Summer League Guardians’ Teams Win
Minor League Recap for Tuesday, June 10th, 2025
DSL Guardians Mendoza 11, DSL LAD Mega 9
Some nice offense from this Guardians’ affiliate. No worries, I’m sure it won’t be long until our hitting development team finds a way to ABSOLUTELY CRUSH THEIR SPIRITS AND TURN THEM INTO NOODLE BATS. An interesting name to monitor here is 17 year-old, right-handed hitting shortstop Jose Riera who has a 1.314 OPS so far. Interestingly, the Guardians scored 11 runs here on FOURTEEN walks and nine SINGLES. God bless whatever fans watched this game, as Guardians’ pitches also walked eight batters. There were 21 hits in this game total and only four of them were extra base hits, no home runs.
DSL Guardians Goryl 3, DSL Orioles Black 2
Hey, a 17 year-old 5’10 switch-hitting infielder hit two doubles in this game. Can’t wait for Rodny Rosario to wash out in Triple-A five years from now! Gustavo Baptista had two walks and has a 1.236 OPS as a 17 year-old catcher which is cool. Oh, and Israel Alvarez is a 17 year-old 5’9 switch-hitting second baseman with a .955 OPS. I’m sure the Jose Ramirez developmental path will magically work again THIS time. Alexander Garcia had a good game. He’s an 18 year-old six foot right-hander who has struck out 44 batters in 29 innings in his pro career so far. Maybe he can grow another inch or two still and become a viable starter someday.
