Around the league:
- The White Sox are calling up top catching prospect Kyle Teel, one of the jewels of the Garrett Crochet trade with Boston.
- The Astros have signed old friend Omar Narváez to a minor league deal.
- Speaking of old friends, the Royals inked righty Justin Dunn to a minor league contract.
- Casey Lawrence has a position player counterpart so far this year: former Mariner Cooper Hummel has once again elected free agency after being designated for assignment for the third time this season.
- After each serving a one-year suspension for betting on baseball, MLB has reinstated four players. A’s reliever Michael Kelly and Diamondbacks lefty Andrew Saalfrank are two who will be rejoining their big league teams.
- Kumar Rocker made his return to the Rangers’ rotation on Wednesday, and it didn’t go so swell, as he allowed five runs across just 3.1 innings. Texas has optioned him to Triple-A Round Rock.
- White Sox fans, rejoice! But unfortunately, patience will still be needed.
The White Sox announced that "Jerry Reinsdorf and Justin Ishbia have reached a long-term investment agreement that establishes a framework for Ishbia to obtain a future controlling interest in the White Sox." "In no event will such a transaction take place before 2029."
