Morning Briefing: Jonah Tong Named Eastern League Pitcher of the Month
Good morning, Mets fans!
Right-handed pitching prospect Jonah Tong was named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Month for May after posting a 1.35 ERA over five starts with 42 strikeouts for Double-A Binghamton. His standout performance came on May 10 against the Reading Fightin Phils, as he threw 6 2/3 perfect innings with 13 punch outs.
On the year, Tong now has a 2.02 ERA in 49 innings and 10 outings.

The Mets announced that they will be releasing two new original video series: “Inside the Diamond”, which will provide “unparalleled access to your favorite players”, and “On the Road”, which “gives you an all-access pass to our travel for road games.”

Kimbrel, a nine-time All-Star with 440 saves, began his career with the organization and played for them from 2010 to 2014 before returning on a minor league deal in March.
