News and Notes for Thursday, June 5th, 2025
The Cleveland Guardians took one against the New York Yankees last night, shutting out the Yankees in New York for the first time since 2014! The Guards had a booming first inning and pulled some fantastic defensive gems to secure the win.
They will go into the rubber match today before heading home to face the Houston Astros starting Friday. Read the full recap here.
All-Star voting has begun and I will use this platform to begin campaigning for Daniel Schneemann as an All-Star. Vote here and don’t forget you can vote five times per day per email.
Guardians beat reporter provided updates on two of the injured Guards. Ben Lively underwent Tommy John surgery and is expected to return in 12-18 months. Lane Thomas is back to running but is taking it at a day-by-day pace out of precaution. Still no official word on Will Brennan who is seeing, as coined by Zack Meisel, the elbow reaper sometime this week.
Quincy has a write up on Big Christmas and his place on the roster.
