West Asia Baseball Cup 2025 down to semifinals
Iran-Palestine and Pakistan-India will compete for a place in the championship game of the West Asia Baseball Cup 2025.
Iran is hosting the West Asia Baseball Cup in Karaj, in the Central District of Karaj County, Alborz province. Palestine and Pakistan topped the respective groups undefeated. India finished second behind Palestine in Group A, preceding Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, while Iran defeated Bangladesh to earn second place in Group B.
Pakistan is the West Asia Baseball Cup defending champion.
The Asian Baseball Cup was launched in 1995 in Manila, Philippines, as a qualifier for the Asian Baseball Championship. The tournament was split into the West Asia and East Asia Baseball Cups in 2012
Pakistan (2012, 2013, 2015 and 2023) and Sri Lanka (2017 and 2019) are the only West Asia Baseball Cup winners and have competed in the final in four of the five previous editions. Iran lost the final against Pakistan in 2015. Iran also earned three bronze medals in 2012, 2015, and 2017. The other third-place finishers are Afghanistan (2013) and India (2015 and 2019)
Sri Lanka hosted in Colombo the 2019 edition. The tournament was cancelled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
The Philippines won the last edition of the East Asia Baseball Cup in November 2024.
