Lowe capped off an eventful series with a two homerun game on Thursday

During the Rays three game series victory over the Toronto Blue Jays, veteran second baseman Brandon Lowe broke out of a weeks long slump. Entering play on Tuesday, Lowe had seven hits over his last 52 PA and was hitting .152/.250/.304 over that span (13 games); during this series against Toronto, Lowe had seven hits over 14 PA and hit .538/.571/1.077 with 2 HR and a double.

To start out the series, Lowe walked in his first plate appearance and then gave the Rays the lead in the third inning with a base hit that brought home two runs. Later on in the game, with the game tied, Lowe knocked another basehit to load the bases for Junior Caminero who eventually launched a grand slam and Tampa Bay would hold on to win, 11-9.

Although the Rays would lose on Wednesday, Brandon Lowe would collect two hits, including a double, over four trips to the plate; if not for Chandler Simpson getting caught stealing just prior to the double, the whole complexion of the game could have changed.

Then on Thursday, Brandon Lowe ignited the Rays offense early on with a two run blast. Lowe would add another hit in the 7th inning and then came up again in the 9th. The Rays were clinging to a 6-3 lead after the Blue Jays had just narrowly avoided tying the game in the bottom of the 8th. Lowe was at the plate with a runner on second; Lowe proceeded to launch his second homerun of the game and almost assuredly assured a Rays victory.

Junior Caminero and Josh Lowe received consideration as well; Caminero for hitting the go-ahead grand slam on Tuesday and Josh Lowe for returning to the lineup on Thursday after seven weeks on the Injured List and collecting three hits including a homerun.
