The prospect is making it hard to keep him in the minors.

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Kansas City Royals fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

Some players are baseball players, and some players are reasons to show up at the park every day. Those are the ones with blazing speed, electric fastballs, cannon arms, or have mind-bending curves.

Some players launch tape-measure home runs. Jac Caglianone is that kind of player. Everyone knew the 2024 first-round pick had 80-grade power when he was drafted, but it is still remarkable to see in games. He has exhibited MLB-level exit velocity, hit opposite-field home runs, and launched home runs clear out of the ballpark.

He is hitting .323/.396/.571 with nine home runs and a decent strikeout rate of 22.1 percent. His 37 RBI lead all of the minors. The question at this point is - how much longer are the Royals going to allow him to terrorize Texas League pitchers?

High-level hitting prospects drafted out of college will typically spend a full year in the minors before getting the call, but some teams have been a bit more aggressive promoting prospects recently. Nick Kurtz, a Wake Forest slugger selected two picks ahead of Caglianone, is already in the big leagues. Cam Smith, taken out of Florida State eight picks after Caglianone, is facing the Royals this week as a member of the Astros.

When will we see Jac Caglianone make his Major League debut? Will it be before the All-Star break? Will he be a second-half call up? Or will we see him in 2026?
