Guardians News and Notes: On to D.C.
News and Notes for Monday, May 5th, 2025
The Guardians secured another series win in Toronto and now head down to D.C. to play the Nationals beginning tonight.
You can read a great recap of another one-run win by Nicole here. Nothing to make fans freak out than an unsustainable run of winning one-run games but I'd point to a variety of reasons to believe the Guardians will improve from this point (a slew of players set to return from injury, and slow starts from vets who will find their footing) as reasons to feel good about some early season good luck.
Jose Ramirez returned to the lineup because of course he did. Hope he can treat that mildly sprained ankle well-enough while playing to get back to 100%. He's nothing if not a gamer.
The Guardians are excited about prospect Joey Oakie, writes MLB.com's Tim Stebbins.
AROUND MLB:
The Tigers, Royals and Twins all won. The Tigers go from playing the Angels to playing the Rockies so that's awesome.
