Rays 3, Yankees 2: Rays Snap Skid
Taylor Walls and Curtis Mead pack the punch as Rays win in the Bronx
New York, New York.
“That’s Life”, by Frank Sinatra would play as patrons leave Yankee Stadium today, as the Rays win a nail-biter 3-2.
The scoring started with Aaron Judge homering on the first Zack Littell offering he saw to get the Yankees jump-started 1-0.
In the following half inning, Taylor Walls hit a sacrifice fly to plate Jose Caballero, evening the game at 1-1.
Austin Wells homered to center in the bottom of the fifth to reclaim the lead for the Yanks, 2-1.
Speaking of Wells, the Rays stole six bases off of him, including Chandler Simpson swiping two of his own without even starting the game.
In the eighth, Tampa Bay showed some resiliency and a pulse on offense as Curtis Mead hit an RBI single, and Jose Caballero grounded into a fielders choice to push across Brandon Lowe for the lead.
