Singapore win men's & women's softball President Cup in Malaysia
Singapore dominated the President Cup in Malaysia, claiming the title in both the men's and women's tournaments. The event - staged at Padang Utama UTM in Johor Bahru and officially sanctioned by Softball Asia - was played on 19 and 20 April, featuring Malaysia and Singapore going head-to-head.
In the men's competition, Singapore defeated Malaysia 7-0 on Saturday and 24-1 (in four innings) on Sunday to secure the title. In the women's tournament, the Singapore team beat the hosts 8-0 and 15-1 (in five innings).
Thailand was unable to participate due to last minute logistical issues.
The President Cup served as a warm-up event ahead of the South East Asian Games Thailand 2025, scheduled to take place from 9 to 20 December in Thailand. The softball competition will be held at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi in Bangkok. Men's Baseball and Baseball5 will also be part of the programme.
