Yukiko Ueno reaches 250-win milestone in Japanese women's softball league

One of the greatest softball players in the history of the game reached a new milestone in her legendary career on Sunday, adding to her impressive legacy. Japanese pitcher Yukiko Ueno earned her 250th win in the Japanese softball league, becoming the first ever player to do so in the history of the competition.

The two-time Olympic gold medallist keeps making history 25 years after her first Japanese Softball League win in 2001. Ueno earned her second win of the 2025 season when Bic Camera Takasaki defeated Honda Reverta, 5-3, to reach the 250-win milestone.

Ueno holds three Olympic medals, including two golds in Beijing 2008 and Tokyo 2020. She earned a bronze medal in Athens 2004, where she tossed the first perfect game in the history of the Olympics against China.

The Fukuoka native also owns three World Cup titles, including the last edition in 2024 when she earned the MVP award. She also helped Japan to win back to back titles in 2012 and 2014, as well as six consecutive gold medals at the Asian Games.
