WBSC Premier12 alum Coen Wynn to pitch for KBO’s LG Twins
The LG Twins of the Korea Baseball Organisation (KBO) league signed Australian right-hander Coen Wynne. The 26-year-old pitcher received an invitation to the Twins' Spring Camp in Arizona, USA, and received the call after starting pitcher Eliezer Hernandez suffered a tear in the adductor magnus muscle. Wynne will sign a contract as a temporary replacement.
After representing Australia at the U-18 and U-23 levels, Coen Wynne pitched out of the bullpen for his country at the WBSC Premier12 2024. He appeared in four games and had a 2.25 earned run average.
He was an effective reliever for the Grand Canyon Antelopes in the NCAA Western Athletic Conference from 2018 to 2021. He pitched for the Sydney Blue Sox of the Australian Baseball League (ABL) from the 2022-23 season, appearing in 34 games, including 21 starts.
