Mets Minors Recap: Sproat Sparkles for Syracuse
Friday was good for most Mets and their minor league clubs. Top pitching prospect Brandon Sproat tossed six shutout innings to lead Syracuse to a 3-0 victory over Buffalo Friday in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Zach Thornton fired six shutout innings of one-hit ball for Brooklyn in a 5-0 win over Aberdeen. The feel-good comeback story of Matt Allan hit a bump in the road. He gave up his first runs in six years and St. Lucie lost 14-9 to Tampa. Mets affiliates won four of five on Friday.
