Game Thread: White Sox at Tigers
The South Siders head to Detroit for their first series away
The White Sox are officially on the road, with their first stop in Detroit to see an American League Central rival, the Tigers. Both teams have dealt with early injuries, so we’ll see how this series plays out.
Jonathan Cannon gets the start today. His last outing wasn’t ideal, with four hits and three walks over five innings. However, he struck out five and didn’t allow any runs. Unfortunately, Cannon got weak offensive support in his start, which will probably be a recurring theme this season.
He’ll face a Detroit team struggling to hit, with the exception of Spencer Torkelson.

Detroit has veteran right-handed pitcher Jack Flaherty on the mound today. Flaherty got the job done in his season debut, going 5 2⁄3 innings and giving up two walks, five strikeouts, two earned runs, and three hits.
