Last game of spring training!

We made it, folks: today marks the final game of the Cactus League for the Mariners. Practice baseball comes to a close, and the real baseball is juuuuust on the horizon. They’ll end this slate where they began: in Peoria against the Padres, this time as the away team.

@Mariners

The M’s lineup was a bit late this morning, as the club was waiting to see whether Víctor Robles was ready to go after sitting out yesterday’s game due to a hit-by-pitch on the hand on Saturday. Thankfully, he got the all clear and will be in the familiar leadoff spot. Don’t expect to see any of the starters get more than a couple plate appearances each, though, what with the regular season starting in three days and all. Bryan Woo gets the nod for the last start of spring training, and expect to see Gregory Santos, Brandyn Garcia, Casey Legumina, and Shintaro Fujinami get some work in.

@Padres

The Padres are rolling out what most of their Opening Day lineup should like, minus one Martíin Maldonado, and will send out former Arkansas Traveler Stephen Kolek to get the start on the mound. Following Kolek, Jeremiah Estrada, Alek Jakob, Robert Suárez, and Jason Adam are all scheduled to pitch.

Today’s first pitch will be at 12:10pm PDT, an hour earlier than the usual start time. While there will not be a televised broadcast, you’ll be able to listen to Rick Rizzs and Gary Hill Jr. call the action live on 710 AM Seattle Sports.
