Final game of spring training

The Athletics wrap up spring training this afternoon against the Chicago White Sox, finishing camp off before heading to Seattle for the beginning of the regular season on Thursday.

On the hill for the A’s is lefty JP Sears. Set to make his sixth start of camp, Sears has generally looked solid as he prepares for his third full year in the big leagues. He’s been a workhorse for the team over the past couple of years but now we’ll be hoping he can step it up to another level. Next time we see him on the mound will be in Seattle, when games really start counting.

Here is how the team will line up behind their left-hander:

  1. Lawrence Butler, RF
  2. Brent Rooker, DH
  3. JJ Bleday, CF
  4. Shea Langeliers, C
  5. Tyler Soderstrom, 1B
  6. Miguel Andujar, LF
  7. Gio Urshela, 3B
  8. Max Muncy, 2B
  9. Jacob Wilson, SS

That lineup is how the team will likely go with when the season kicks off on Thursday. It is interesting to see Wilson all the way at the bottom and it’ll be worth monitoring where he settles in in the lineup. It wouldn’t be shocking to see him rise up the list if he gets off to a good start.

The White Sox will counter with right-hander Davis Martin. And here is how Chicago will line up for the spring finale:

Let’s go A’s! Finish off spring on a high note with a win!
