Penultimate Spring Training Contest: Royals vs. Rangers at Globe Life Field
Almost there!
Remember when the Texas Rangers started playing in their brand new stadium but no one was there to see them play because it was 2020? And remember when they were like, “yeah, let’s just hold the World Series here in front of six dozen fans?” Weird times. More recently, Bobby Witt Jr. ended as runner-up in the 2024 Home Run Derby.
With two more Spring Training games on the bill, Surprise stadium mates Kansas City and Texas will play at Globe Life Field in Arlington tonight, in a simulacrum of an early season game—replete with lineups that look close to normal and everything.
Monday night baseball.

With Vinnie Pasquantino continuing to battle a myriad of injuries as a big leaguer, not seeing him at first base early in the year is a distinct possibility, and frankly that makes not being able to get another big bat a little scary. India-Witt-Perez is a good first third, but after that it gets grim pretty quick.
But! The good news is that this is an exhibition contest and Vinnie has most of a week to rest up and get ready.
