Game Thread: White Sox at Guardians
It’s an AL Central matchup in the desert
Happy Sunday! Today is a special day because not only is it Daylight Savings, but it feels like spring outside, too. What better than baseball on a day like today, as the 4-10 Chicago White Sox will take on the 5-8 Cleveland Guardians in a division matchup.
Mason Adams will get the start against Gavin Williams for the Guards. The game will be played at Goodyear Ballpark. But first, here’s some updated roster news for today.

Of the three, Taylor made the biggest impression with his first big-league Spring Training, hovering around 100 mph on the gun each appearance and striking out six batters in two innings to finish up Saturday’s win.
Adams currently has a 3.00 ERA this spring over three innings, with four strikeouts and a 1.00 WHIP. Adams was a 13th round pick by the team in 2022, and has yet to make his major league debut. He was invited to Spring Training this year after spending last season with the Birmingham Barons and Charlotte Knights. While he is certain to start the season back in Charlotte, Adams is a player to keep an eye on as a player who should be making that step to the major leagues this year.
Williams is the Guardians 2021 first round pick, going 23rd overall. In 2024 he went 3-10 with a 4.86 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. Not the best numbers, so this year will be important to cement himself on the Guardians roster moving forward.

Brooks Baldwin leads it off, followed by Andrew Vaughn, Brandon Drury, and Matt Thaiss. Bobby Dalbec takes third, Colson Montgomery is back in action after his back injury and picks up some reps at shortstop, and Dominic Fletcher will be in center. Cal Mitchell and Joey Gallo will close it out at the bottom of the lineup.
