A’s win again, defeat Rangers 6-3
Back-to-back wins to start the week
The A’s won again on Tuesday afternoon, defeating the rival Texas Rangers 6-3 for their 7th win of spring.
Right-hander JT Ginn got the call today for his third appearance this spring. It wasn’t the smoothest outing for Ginn when Texas scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning, but he settled down and pitched into the third inning, ramping up to 49 pitches after a small buildup.
The A’s meanwhile jumped all over Texas’ pitching. The team scored runs in each of the first four innings, including a home run from infield prospect Max Muncy. Once they had the lead they wouldn’t look back in this one. The Athletics added on a pair of insurance runs later in the game, with the highlight being another home run, this one coming off the bat of JJ Bleday. That was his first this spring and second hit today.
After Ginn came seven more relievers. The bullpen went 6 1⁄3 inning and only allowed one home run, a solo home run that Mason Miller allowed.
Yes, it’s spring training but the team is still doing well so far. The team will have their first off day of the spring tomorrow but the Milwaukee Brewers await for a Thursday evening matchup. Lefty Jeffrey Spring is scheduled for that start while Milwaukee has yet to announce their side. Keep an eye out!
