Taipei City to host Youth Baseball5 Asia Cup from March 11 to 14
Seven teams will compete in the II Youth Baseball5 Asia Cup in Taipei City from March 11 to 14. The top three finishers will qualify for the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup 2025, which will take place in Mexico later this year.
World No. 2 Chinese Taipei; No. 4 Japan; No. 11 Korea; No. 14 Hong Kong,China; No. 17 Malaysia; No. 28 Thailand and Iraq will compete in a round-robin at the Xiangti Avenue Plaza venue.
After the round-robin, the first and second-placed teams will compete for the title while the third and fourth-placed teams will compete for the bronze medal and the third Asian ticket to the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup.
In October last year, the WBSC announced an increase in the number of participating teams in the WBSC Baseball5 and Youth Baseball5 World Cups to 16 due to the continued popularity of Baseball5 around the world.
Five teams have already qualified for the WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup 2025.
World No. 7 Lithuania, No. 12 Türkiye and No. 3 France qualified through the U-18 Baseball5 European Championship in November last year.
No. 13 Ghana and No. 15 Kenya qualified through the Youth Baseball5 African Championship in January.
