Mariners 2025 Spring Training Game #5, 02-25-25: Open Game Thread
Will the Mariners continue their spring swinging surge and win their third game in a row, or will they fall to the SoCal super-team that is the Dodgers?
A Seattle Mariners pitcher makes his spring debut, and opposite a pitcher from Seattle making the start for the Los Angeles Dodgers. La Piedra, Luis Castillo is making his debut for the Mariners, and on the Dodgers side also making his debut is Seattle native Blake Snell.
Lineups:
Today’s lineup sees a familiar top of the lineup in Crawford, Rodríguez, Arozarena, and Garver. Bliss and Canzone make their third at their respective positions. Ben Williamson, Lookout Landing’s #15 prospect in the 2025 rankings and the Sun Visor award winner in his first spring start, gets his second look starting at third. Rounding up the lineup is Young, getting some reps at designated hitter.
After Luis Castillo, scheduled and probable pitchers for Seattle include Bolton, Klein, Pomeranz, Hahn, and Kitchen.
Update: Luke Raley has been replaced by Tyler Locklear, Lookout Landing’s #11 2025 prospect, batting fifth and playing first base.
The thing about the Dodgers lineup is that even with several of their key players missing from it, it still is filled with players who at least could be a threat. And also James Outman. Good thing it’s spring training!
Following Blake Snell, probable Los Angeles pitchers include Wrobleski, Casparius, J. Fernandez, Jacques, and J. Rodriguez.
