Guardians 2025 Mock Draft 1.0
Guardians Mock 1.0 for 2025
27 CF Slater de Brun (HS OR)
66 RHP Angel Cervantes (HS CA)
70 RHP Anthony Eyanson (Louisville, transfer from San Diego)
72 OF/LHP Brock Ketelsen (HS CA)
102 1B Anthony Martinez (UC Irvine)
Rounds 4-10
4 LHP Joseph Dzierwa (Michigan State)
5 LHP Shane Sdao (Texas A&M)
6 RHP Mason McConnaughey (Nebraska)
7 LHP Evan Blanco (Virginia)
8 CF Nick Groves (Niagara)
9 RHP Collin Fang (Harvard)
10 RHP Justice de Jong (HS NY)
Very West Coast, Cali heavy top of the mock class. All HS are extremely young for their class.
De Brun and Cervantes two early HS favorites. The de Brun comps are C. Carroll and last year's version, Slade Caldwell. Cervantes profile reminds me of Doughty (and some Espino). Ketelsen is a roll of the dice. Wouldn't mind going with another college arm there (really like Kirby Snead).
Eyanson is probably the youngest draft eligible college JR, October birthday, so 20yo throughout 2025 minors season. Not on any Top 100 list yet, but if he performs for Louisville he'll be a day one pick. Checks all boxes (including two of CLEFO's favorite college conferences to draft pitching from (ACC and Big West, plus two good Cape starts in between).
Not many college bats I like, and those I do like (C Bodine, CF Kepley) will probably go between 27 and 66. Bodine could be an option for 27 with a strong draft season. Some Cooper Ingle similarities.
Sdao is a top 2 rd talent, but will miss all of 2025. Maybe switch him and Dzierwa, who's a raw 6'8 lefty with HS pedigree (from Ohio), but had a good So season. Also on the young/class side.
McConnaughey and Blanco are two college pitchability performers I like that are going under the radar. NIck Groves checks two boxes: small school and Cape performer with strong BB/K ratio and he's Canadian. Early in the process, so all of these guys could go several rounds higher.
Fang continues the Guardians 9th rd Harvard selection trend (Driver, Matson).
De Jong would be a good pick in 2nd/3rd rd (and get that sort of bonus anyway).
De Brun, Cervantes, Ketelsen and de Jong profiles and tool grades in mlbpipeline's early top 100.
